About the Studio

Spaces shaped around living.

Form & Habitat is a contemporary interior design studio in Kenya. We design homes and workplaces that are calm, practical and quietly personal.

Who we are

A studio for people who value quality without excess.

We combine space planning, material selection, natural light, furniture and detailing into interiors that hold together as a whole. Our rooms are designed to be used — by children, guests, colleagues and customers — and to look better for it over time.

We are not interested in a house style or the trend of the season. A family home in Karen and a compact apartment in Kilimani need different answers, and our job is to find the right one for each.

Good design should be welcoming, not intimidating. We explain our thinking, respect budgets and make sure you feel at home in the process as well as the result.

Design philosophy

Considered in every detail.

  1. I

    Function First

A space should support the activities and routines it was designed for.

  2. II

    Material Honesty

Materials, textures and finishes should be selected with their appearance, use and maintenance in mind.

  3. III

    Natural Balance

Light, proportion, colour and texture should work together to create a cohesive environment.

  4. IV

    Personal Character

The result should reflect the people who use the space, rather than follow a trend without purpose.

Core values

How we work with you.

01Thoughtful planning
Decisions are made in a sensible order — plan, then materials, then furniture — so nothing is bought twice.
02Clear communication
You will know what stage we are at, what we need from you and what happens next.
03Respect for budgets
We discuss budget early and design to it, flagging trade-offs before they become surprises.
04Attention to detail
Handles, junctions, switch positions and curtain lengths are considered, not left to chance.
05Practical material choices
Finishes are chosen for climate, cleaning and wear as well as looks.

Working approach

Calm, clear and collaborative.

  1. We listen before we draw

The first meetings are about routines, frustrations and hopes for the space. The brief we write together becomes the measure for every later decision.

  2. We work in a sensible order

Plan first, then materials and lighting, then furniture and styling. Getting the order right is what keeps projects on budget.

  3. We show trade-offs plainly

When a choice affects cost, maintenance or lead time, we say so — with options — so you can decide with the full picture.

  4. We stay to the finish

Where our scope includes it, we stay involved through coordination and styling, and hand over the information you need to look after the space.
